Ed Sheeran - Sing | Single Review

Ed Sheeran released a teaser of his new single, Sing, for the upcoming album, X (or Multiply) on Saturday night. It has finally been aired on BBC Radio 1 tonight.

The song as a whole is extremely different to any of Ed's previous releases, with a more extensive use of falsetto which demonstrates his dynamic vocal range, as well as more of a rap element which works incredibly well in Ed's favour.

As a whole the song is catchy and will appeal to a mainstream audience, however it feels less significant than anything off of previous album, + . Pharrell helped produce "Sing" and the song definitely feels way overproduced. Hopefully when the album drops in June, it will contain better songs and will live up to the legacy of the debut album. From what Sheeran has debuted live, with songs such as "Take it Back" and "Tenerife Sea" there is no doubt that it is going to be a classic album and hopefully the production will not be as forced as it is on "Sing."
