Thor is now a woman?

Marvel have shocked fans across the globe… Thor is now a woman. This brings in an even bigger shake up to the much-loved Avengers, after major changes to Captain America and Ironman. In a story that leads to male Thor not being worthy of holding his mighty hammer (cough), Mjolnir, lady Thor comes into play. Instead, poor male Thor is left with his boyhood axe Jarnbjorn after, probably messing up big time.

 

It is unknown as to who the new Thor is. All that has been revealed is that the original Thor saved her previously with his big God-like muscles. But don’t be calling her Lady Thor, or She-Thor. She is the new Thor as said by Thor comic book writer Jason Aaron.  

This will usher in the age of a new comic book series and will be yet another lead female comic book hero in the Marvel Universe, along with Black Widow, Elektra and the upcoming Storm series of X-Men fame.

What is also unknown is how this will affect the Marvel Cinematic universe, with obvious repercussions bound to occur in future Avengers films. What can be said is that this is an awesome twist in Thor’s tale. How this affects both the comic and cinematic Marvel universe is nail-biting and exciting all at the same time.

The new comic book series featuring the new Thor is out this October.
