One Direction have premiered their brand new single “Steal My
Girl” from their forthcoming LP entitled “Four”. Which is music to the ears of
the millions of the manufactured bands’ “Directioners”.
The song is the groups attempt at a mid tempo pop-rock
record. Which is a different direction (pun intended) to anything the boys have
ever done. And although it doesn't necessarily sound unpleasant, it certainly lacks
the flare that can be heard from all their previous pop hits – up-tempo or not.
Having adopted a more mature sound on “Steal My Girl”, is it
too much to ask for One Direction to do a song that’s not just about how much
they want to kiss their girlfriends and how pretty they are? Surely every One
Direction fan has got the message right from their debut single “What Makes You
Beautiful” and every other ubiquitous song they have ever done.
One thing One Direction are annoyingly good at are
infectious ear-worms for choruses and “Steal My Girl” doesn't disappoint in
that department. Fact is, whether unintentionally or reluctantly – after two or
three listens, you will be singing along with the boys – and their resilient army
of supporters.
Overview: It’s going to take a lot more than a few random
guitar riffs to prove that One Direction are more than just adolescent music for
preteens. Listen to the song below and let us know if you agree!

Well written article, I agree. Nice to see the band try to venture off to different things but ripping off Fleetwood Mac?? Forget it!
