FourPlay's Track of the Week: Charli XCX ft Rita Ora - Doing It

Finally a song by Charli XCX where she’s not singing obnoxiously! Yes, surprisingly her latest solo effort “Doing It” taken from her upcoming debut album “Sucker” is a breath of a sparkly pop-air. The song which features fellow female Brit singer Rita Ora, could be the UKs answer to Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s huge 2010 hit “Telephone” as both songs are incredibly fun and have a Thelma and Louise themed video.

Charli, who made a name for herself providing the vocals for the #1 songs ‘I Don’t Care’ by Icona Pop and Iggy Azalea’s ‘Fancy’ is very much the shining star on Doing It. Rita Ora’s feature definitely doesn’t ruin the song, however it definitely wasn’t needed either.  But there’s nothing wrong with a little forced girl power, right?

I hereby declare Doing It as the first sassy, catchy and fun pop single of 2015! Hopefully other pop acts will continue Doing It like they’re Doing It!
