FourPlays Track Of The Week: Fairly Local - Twenty One Pilots

This is probably one of the biggest mind benders of a song I've heard in awhile, and that's why I absolutely love it. Twenty One Pilots have never been one to pigeonhole themselves into a category. Now after a two year break and their latest album "Blurry Face" on the horizon it seems they have taken this mentality to new heights.

It's not a one listen kind of track. The dark undertones of the rap like vocals, the chilling resonance of the harmonies and Josh Dunn's killer beats culminate into one strange yet memorable creation. Impressively this duo makes their music sound bigger and more theatrical with every release.

What's more is I've still yet to suss out what the music video actually means. All I know is that when it comes to new music that pushes the boundaries yet keeps it's original flair, Twenty One Pilots are dominating.
