Usher (aka Ursher Baayby) is back
with his new track ‘Good Kisser’, thankfully there is no autotune to be
heard and more importantly IT DOES NOT feature David Guetta, Pitbull or Enrique
Iglesias!
Which is a good thing, because despite
those tragic collaborations, Usher has been one of the most consistent R&B
male artists of the past two decades. Yes, it seems the 'U-Turn' singer has done
just that for the sound of this new song and left the dance scene him behind him.
Instead, Usher goes back to basics
with a soul funk infused beat while he sings on how much his lover is ‘such a
good kisser’, obviously. The lyrics to
the whole song are mainly innuendos about oral sex, which of course is nothing
new for an Usher song. But its acceptable here, as the sexual suggestions in ‘Good
Kisser’ do not become so explicit that the song becomes tacky.
The only sour moment of 'Good
Kisser' is the rap/singing thing that Usher does at the beginning of the song,
which sounds like a forced and weird Bajan accent. However the catchy chorus,
ringing percussion and the clap breakdown all come together to give this
song a groove that will promise to get you up off your feet two-stepping to
the beat.
Overview: If Marvin Gaye, Prince and Rihanna ever had foreplay, it would sound like this. Watch the video for 'Good Kisser' below and be sure to let us know what you think!
