Little Mix - Salute | Single Review

File:Little Mix - Salute (Official Single Cover).png

There are a few things in life that are guaranteed to happen.  Death, paying taxes and for all girl bands to sing about empowering women, or being an independent women, or that girls are the leaders of the pack etc are a few of these things. So just like death, it was inevitable that at some point in their career Little Mix would release a song with the same message that we’ve all heard over and over again.

As tedious as the theme for ‘Salute’ is, the song isn’t terrible. As the four of them fearlessly sing that they are “looking for recruits” and are “representing all the women” (naturally) they are convincing in their execution.  After the final chorus, even on your first listen you will be singing with them ‘Salute’!

And salute is a perfect word to describe the groups’ career thus far. After winning the X Factor in 2009, they’ve gone on to improve and improve and deserve to be taken seriously as a group, so.. Salute!

Overview: If Beyoncé’s ‘Diva’, ‘Run The World (Girls) and Destiny’s Child’s – Independent Woman had a love child, this would be it. Watch the video below and tell us what you think.
