FourPlay Previews... E3 2014

Its E3 2014 this week! (yay) And that means a bunch of new games will be revealed. After last years focus on the next-gen consoles, this year it’s all about the games. So hopefully the PS4 will actually get some more games and the Wii U may still be proven to be utterly pointless. Anyway! Here’s some of the biggest games you can expect to discover.

Multi-Platform

Game Of Thrones (Telltale)
Coming from the makers of The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, Telltale are now turning their heads to the most popular TV show at the moment. Based on George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones books, it is unclear as of now as to how they will transform it into a game. All will be revealed.

Far Cry 4
After being leaked earlier this year, it was announced that this Far Cry will be set in the Himalayas, a setting most Far Cry players are unaccustomed to. Hopefully more will be uncovered at the Ubisoft press conference.

Alien: Isolation
This was announced back in January and seems to be going on the right path to being a lot better than Colonial Marines. With a more stealthy tone to this game, rather than the all guns blazing tactic of Marines, it’s looking to scare the hell out of you.

Assassin’s Creed Comet
Only coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 is the Assassin’s Creed where you don’t play an Assassin. Again. Naval Warfare will be a prominent part of the gameplay once more, which can be good or bad. Either way, making sure the non-next gen gamers aren’t missing out, it’s very commendable to have this game.

Assassin’s Creed Unity
This is the AC everyone’s been waiting for. The chance to climb the Eiffel Tower. Set in Paris, this will bring AC to the next-gen only, but hopefully it’ll result in smoother gameplay and even better graphics.

Tom Clancy’s The Division
Although it was announced at last years E3, with high levels of anticipation, it got delayed. It boasted a massive multiplayer experience where you team up with friends, even on their tablets, and challenge other players as you try to survive. But there should be more to cover in this year’s Ubisoft press conference which will send the anticipation through the roof.

Mirrors Edge 2
Mirrors Edge was probably the first game most people had on their PS3 or 360. And now, parkouring Faith is back! Ready to jump over things and climb other things and occasionally dropkick things. Look out for it at the EA conference.

Playstation

Uncharted (PS4)
Naughty Dog’s most successful franchise returns to the next gen. Follow Nathan Drake, the male Lara Croft, on his many adventures across the globe all with brand spanking new graphics.

Deep Down (PS4)
An online free-to-play RPG game is coming to the PS4. Reminiscent of the Dark Souls experience, there is still more to be announced which will hopefully remove the air of mystery surrounding it.

Xbox

Sunset Overdrive
In a city overrun with mutants, you are the one who destroys them with an arsenal of weapons. Due for 2014, hopefully the date will be uncovered at the Microsoft press conference.

Halo 5: Guardians
Not due for release until autumn 2015, the Xbox One game is one of the most anticipated for the console. Most of it has been kept under wraps so Microsoft will surely focus on this at their conference.

PC

The Sims 4
You better brush up on your Simlish because The Sims is coming back, better than ever. With even more in depth character building and having even more power over your Sims, there’s plenty different from The Sims 3. The EA conference will reveal more, and if there’s any damn in-game purchases like with SimCity, surely people will protest.

Civilization: Beyond Earth
The incredibly popular Sid Meier’s franchise is back, with your minions finally reaching alien contact. Something most had worked on in previous games. It will be a lot more tech focussed which is leaps and bounds ahead of the others.

Nintendo

Super Smash Bros (3DS/ Wii U)
Ever wanted to beat the crap out of someone using the Wii Fit trainer? Or an Animal Crossing Villager? YES?! Then here’s the game for you. With plenty of characters from Nintendo, you can pit them against each other.

Pokemon Omega Ruby/ Alpha Sapphire (3DS)
Undoubtedly one of the best Pokemon games is being reissued. Return to Hoenn to beat Team Magma or Aqua and of course, the Elite Four. Due in autumn this year, Pokemon fans will unite for this well needed Pokemon instalment.

Animal Crossing Wii U?
Rumour has it that the Animal Crossing team were spotted arriving at E3, so the chance there is an Animal Crossing announcement has greatly increased. This will add to the Animal Crossing Plaza already on the Wii U, if it's true.

The Legend Of Zelda (Wii U)
First shown at E3 way back in 2011 to showcase the HD abilities of the Wii U, it’s finally being released. Follow Z… Link in his usual adventures in his glorious HD quality.
