Infamous: First Light | Game Review

Yes, Infamous: First Light is a pretty old game (August 2014). But it's currently free for Playstation Plus subscribers until the end of January. So, review.

You take on the role of Fetch, who is currently stuck in prison due to having some damn awesome superpowers that no one likes. She does zip around Seattle as a beam of neon light which is pretty swell. As you do this, it's easy to tell that the mechanics work wonders on what could have been a disastrously busy game with all the different button mashing you have to do. This is all thanks to previous Infamous' mechanics. Parkouring around Seattle and fighting the massive amount of enemies scattered across the city never gets boring, even when the difficulty gets taken up a notch later in the game.
One of the major issues in the First Light is that the lead character is very in depth as you soon discover courtesy of her deep backstory. But the rest of the game is filled with dull, lifeless beings of pixels. Seattle has so little about it that you soon don't bother stopping to check out the drab rooftops and streets. Then there's the other characters in the game. The NPC's have about as much about them as a soggy plank of wood. So they're bad. Very bad. The other major characters suffer the same fate too.
Other than that, for a DLC, that's free at the moment, there's plenty about Infamous: First Light to make for a sound solo campaign with plenty of side missions and things to discover.
7/10
