Please don’t be jaded by our judgement of choosing an Avril
Lavinge song as our ‘Song of The Week’ after her release of the abominable song
‘Hello Kitty’. Don’t worry, we promise that her latest single ‘Give You What
You Like’ won’t make your ears bleed.
In fact, it’s the complete opposite and it’s really really
good. Give You What You Like is a sensual ballad that subtly captivates you
from the start when Avril pleads “Please wrap your drunken arms around me”.
This is the most mature she has ever sounded in
her career and possibly the most comfortable and confident too. This just proves that
musically, Avril can still Give You What You Like as the song sounds passionate
and sexy enough to be on the soundtrack to the 50 Shades of Grey film.
